Ukraine war map today, as of Dec. 31

Toward the south of Bakhmut the situation is difficult but Ukrainian defenders still holding the line.

The battles for the middle of the town of Opytne south of Bakhmut continue. The northern part of the town is fully under Ukrainian control everything south of these positions is a grey zone changing hands often.
