29 killed in clashes after son of ‘El Chapo’ arrested

At least 29 people have been killed in clashes in Mexico following the arrest of Ovidio Guzmán López, son of convicted drug baron Joaquín ‘El Chapo’ Guzmán. Members of the Sinaloa drug cartel and their associates went on a rampage, engaging in deadly gun battles with the security forces, setting fire to vehicles and blocking roads.

The Mexican federal court issued a decision preventing the transfer of Ovidio Guzman, son of drug baron Joaquin Guzman pseud to the US justice system detained on Thursday.

The US authorities have awarded a $ 5 million prize for capturing Ovidio, considered one of the largest fentanyl traders.

Shortly after Ovidio Guzman's detention in west Mexico, large riots broke out. There were roadblocks and cases of destruction of public property as well as theft of vehicles.
