Heavy fighting continues in the direction of Krasna Hora and Blahodatne. Since the capture of Soledar Russian forces have been struggling to capture the two towns although they have been launching constant frontal assaults.
Russian forces continue frontal assaults towards the town of Ivanivske near Bakhmut. They have made progress towards the town and heavy fighting continues on the connecting roads south of the town.
Heaviest fighting continues around Vuhledar. Russian assaults to bypass town from east were stopped as well as assaults repelled on southern and south west direction. Ukrainian forces launched small counterattacks to attempt to stabilize situation.
Russian forces have taken full control of the remaining areas of the settlement of Mykil’s’ke as the settlement of Pavlivka remains contested.
General Updates:
Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Poland is ready to send 60 tanks to Ukraine - 30 T-72s and another 30 PT-91 Twardy (modernization of the T-72) in addition to 14 Leopard 2s.
The first Ukrainian military personnel arrived in Cologne, Germany yesterday to train on the Marder IFV. Their preparation should begin soon, DPA agency reports with reference to sources in the Bundeswehr. Germany will supply Ukraine with 40 Marders.
Russia is still busy repairing the Crimean Bridge after the attack in October last year. Sliding of the third span along the left side of the car part has been completeCrd. The thrusting of the last (fourth) span is scheduled for January 31.
Belgium will transfer AIM-120 AMRAAM missiles for NASAMS and small arms to Ukraine. With a total cost of 90 million euros.
